kestnerkids - guided tours for children

How is an oil painting created, what story does the artist tell with his picture, upon which we see an old, bearded man passing by alone in his canoe, what do we see with our own eyes and how does the world look when we view it through the “eye of a camera”?

Starting in autumn 2004, even young children in the company of their parents and grandparents can visit exhibitions at the kestnergesellschaft in a guided tour that has been specially designed for them. Experienced museum pedagogues first speak with the children about individual works and then, building on this encounter, there is a session of building, painting or gluing…

The guided tours take place on selected Sunday afternoons.
